Prayer

Fellowship

Formation

The Secular Franciscan Fraternity of Saint Lawrence of Brindisi gathers monthly in community to celebrate the spirituality of St. Francis through liturgy and prayer, formation and in fraternal fellowship.

Today, the Secular Franciscan Order, formerly known as the Third Order of St. Francis, is an official International Order within the Catholic Church, established by St. Francis of Assisi himself, early in the thirteenth century.

Ordinarily, we do not live in community; rather, we live with our families and perform our jobs out in the world, gathering in fraternities on a regular basis.

By profession, we promise to follow a Rule of Life approved and confirmed by Pope Paul VI in June of 1978.

The Tau Cross Region of the Secular Franciscan Order consists of fraternities located in the New York counties of the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk.

We gather as a Community on the First Sunday of every month at 12 Noon. We cordially invite you to visit as a guest at one of our upcoming gatherings.

For further information, please contact us.  Call Lucia Gildersleeve, OFS at (631) 260-4293 or email us at stlawrencebrindisi1966@gmail.com.

May the grace of the Holy Spirit, the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and our Holy Father Saint Francis, and the Fraternal bonds of Community always be our help so you may reach the Goal of Perfect Christian Love.

Pax, et bonum,

The Council of St. Lawrence of Brindisi Fraternity.
