Dear Friends in Christ,

Peace!  Welcome to Madisonville and to Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church!  Our parish makes present in Monroe County the one Church founded by Jesus Christ during his sojourn on Earth (cf. Lumen gentium, 8)  Here we gather about the altar in worship, to hear the Word of God and to receive the Word made flesh in the Eucharist.  Here the saving waters of Baptism are poured in which we are born anew as God's adopted children.  Here, strengthened by God's grace, we are able to extend our hearts and hands in works of mercy to serve Christ the Lord, even in the distressing disguise of the poorest of the poor.

For your own good and that of the parish, please participate as much as you are able in the life of the parish.  Holy mass is offered regularly on Sundays and throughout the week.  There are choral opportunities as well as religious education programs into which your energies may be poured.  Many parishioners volunteer locally at the Good shepherd Center as an act of faith.  There is a parish women's group as well as a Knights of Columbus council active in the parish.

Besides Easter and Christmas there are two other special days for us here:  Saint Joseph the Worker day (1 MAY) and the solemnity of Saint Joseph (19 March).

May the Lord strengthen your resolve to be faithful to Him, His Gospel, and His bride Mother Church all your days, especially here at Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.

God Bless You!
