The Saint Joseph the Worker parish finance committee is integral to good parish financial governance, is required by canon law, and is a key element of a parish internal control system. The financial chairperson and team are appointed by the parish priest. The parish priest is also a member of the financial team. The financial team reviews parish expenses and income on a quarterly basis and makes financial recommendations to the parish priest and to the parish council. Quarterly reports are provided to the parish and to parish council. They review the input to the annual fiscal budget and make budget recommendations. All projects over $5000.00 are tracked by the financial team. The fiscal management of the parish assets are the responsibility of the financial committee, working in concert with the parish council, to ensure sufficient revenue assets are available to fund the proposed annual budget expenditures, and to consider the short and long range parish plans, including capital budgeting.
A copy of the most recent budget performance report is always available for viewing on the bulletin board in the church lower level.
